What did you do to your Hellcat today?

Do you really expect me to remember every place I've driven that car since August '18??

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

So? Old people don't need much sleep they say.

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

I'm not going to hold it against you, but you do look slightly younger in that photo.

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

That's unlikely. Probably leaves or maybe the remains of a bird. Either way, the wheel well is cleaner than the wheel...and about as dirty as the front of the car. Yeah, it's peroxide time.

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

Put the clunky stock wheels back on, to serve as jack stands while I'm mounting new tires on the good wheels. And it does look like the brakes are still in decent shape, at least there's enough left for next summer's driving.

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

My crystal ball must've informed about my future Peterbilt purchases when I first started driving. Or, maybe it became second nature to be in the correct gear due the hundreds of miles I ended up driving without brakes back then. And again more recently, now with 18 gears to choose from.

What did you do to your Hellcat today?

Hmm, downshifting and being in the correct gear for the speed is a novel concept. I might have to try that sometime.

What are you guys using for paint stripper?

I mainly use those grinder discs that look somewhat like a black sponge. Otherwise, NTerpinal works well, even on powder coat.

Asking your dealer to redact your address for service appointments

Took me a while to get used to the idea after moving here, but these days I do like about 50% of people here and leave the vehicle running while at the post office. Basically, there's nothing inherently wrong with post offices, but they can be in the wrong place.

I need a Long Handle Torque Wrench

Well, the tension seen by the fastener is one thing, the torque applied when tightening it is another. I'm not going to do the math, but it probably takes only about 80 ft.-lbs. applied to a lug nut to create a 200 lb. tension on it. Actually, that sounds high, but 80 was the standard torque...

When should a new vehicle warranty start?

Not much of a price break for a 2 year old model, compared to '26 prices.

I need a Long Handle Torque Wrench

Yep, setting 2 takes the flanged nuts on my Ram 3500 to just shy of the 130 it wants. That Milwaukee can be a real timesaver. If I understand it correctly, the One Key 3/4" version I recently got can be programmed to provide max torque values, which would be great. One for the Ram, one for the...

I need a Long Handle Torque Wrench

There was a time when I could torque 1/2-inch lug nuts to within +/- 2 ft.-lbs. with my ratchet wrench, because I did it so often. These days, with many different vehicles, I have to rely on torque wrenches. The 111 the 'Cat calls for is about the lowest value now. And in reality I go with 110...

    2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee purchase

That's how I buy all my vehicles, although sometimes the trade-in goes to a friend or Carvana instead.

I need a Long Handle Torque Wrench

Some things are indeed severely overrated. After enough years on working on things (many/most?) people simply get a feel for what works and what doesn't. Yes, there are indeed places where torque values are critical, but lug nuts....? With any vehicle that has ever been to a dealer or tire...

I need a Long Handle Torque Wrench

One thing you may want to do is use an extension, so you can support the ratchet end and clear the fenders with the handle.

I need a Long Handle Torque Wrench

My old Craftsman beeps when reaching the set value. Not sure it can store anything, but then again, "Jack" and "Derek" had nothing to do with mine since I don't think Harbor Freight existed when it was made.

I need a Long Handle Torque Wrench

Seems like my comment about primarily worrying about 1,500 ft.-lbs. and up was taken as that I have torque wrenches capable of that. I don't Only a few of my impact wrenches are 1,500 and over, with the leader being a 1-inch hydraulic unit rated at 2,500. Should I be concerned with more...

I need a Long Handle Torque Wrench

They can be handy for fasteners that are 1-1/2 inches and above. Not everything is dainty like Chargers and such.

I need a Long Handle Torque Wrench

I got a Craftsman version a long time ago, but didn't really care for it. Then again, back then my 250 ft.-lb. torque wrench did everything I needed it to do. These days I'm only looking at 1,500 ft.-lbs. and up. That one should work in your case, I'd think.
