Chrysler shutting down plants for virus?

I would cancel the order to get to the back of the line. Waiting another month or two has to be better than having a car built by a disgruntled crew that was asked to show up for work again.

Chrysler shutting down plants for virus?

Looks like it sat for about five days before getting on the train.

    The Official "I ordered" thread

Thanks, Harley, so am I. And, I'm guessing, so is Pierre. Looking at the time it took on the railroad last time, our car may arrive this weekend. It'll be a several hundred miles shorter trip, and supposedly the train averages 100 miles per day. Of course, as of yesterday we're not supposed to...

    Oil Life Remaining Indicator

Which is why I'd pay extra for a dealership not doing my oil changes.

Chrysler shutting down plants for virus?

One glimmer of hope in all this misery: our car is on it's first railroad trip.

    The Official "I ordered" thread

We lucked out, Pierre, that's for sure. I cut it closer, but found out today that our little wagon is on track, literally.

    Oil Life Remaining Indicator

That is amazing. Less than 25 bucks an hour for a correctly performed oil change.

    Oil Life Remaining Indicator

Dumb question maybe, but does that mean you're coming up on 6,000 miles, or is it just what the indicator has decided?

Chrysler shutting down plants for virus?

Looks like our problem isn't a plant shutdown (the car ready to go on 3-12), but has now self quarantined and refuses to get on a train. Or the train refuses to allow it aboard. Whichever, it's not going anywhere.

    Oil Life Remaining Indicator

Yes, getting the system warm enough burns the water off. That's why I hate cold starts, and when I do start a vehicle it gets driven until everything is up to temp, and then some, if at all possible. At 5%? I'd either reset it or ignore it.

    Oil Life Remaining Indicator

If that's the case, why doesn't all manufacturers demand short time intervals? Are Porsches immune to condensation, for example? I would think that the primary reason for water contamination is not driving long/far enough for everything to get up to temp. And FCA's reason for the 6-month rule...

    Rain, Coronavirus, and The Hellcat

Hah! I drove mine today. Couldn't help myself since it's been so long, and it's supposed to snow later this week. Forgot to reinstate the insurance, somehow. Oh well.

    Rain, Coronavirus, and The Hellcat

I can fit two on my longest gooseneck trailer...or is that asking too much, Hellcatcfp? Have some car parts that should go to Big Bear, anyway, so I'd be close(r).

The Hellcat-Powered Ram Rebel TRX Will Reportedly Have Over 700 HP

I don't mind that one bit. If I feel like it, I could make it very obvious what I do have by using the throttle. Actually, one reason I really like the Redeye is that it looks just like a Hellcat...which in turn looks just like a V6 Challenger. Perfect, if you ask me.

The Hellcat-Powered Ram Rebel TRX Will Reportedly Have Over 700 HP

A great "problem" to have, I think.

$25 barrel oil damn $1.25 gas is here and or less!

Oh, so the prices have dropped a lot even in CA?

The Hellcat-Powered Ram Rebel TRX Will Reportedly Have Over 700 HP

I suspect that part of the low sales is that it doesn't look different enough to most people. On the other hand, they have sold at least two of them because they don't look much different from a regular Grand Cherokee. As much as I enjoy mine, I wouldn't want it if it screamed "Look at me", by...

$25 barrel oil damn $1.25 gas is here and or less!

And here I was quite happy when diesel prices fell enough so that a month ago I could fill up my 3500 with only two swipes. Adding to the joy of the three card swipes was that Amex kicked out after the first two $100, so had to use another card for the last portion. And that was often just two...

    Rear End Popping

Dang, Hunter. Not that I've ever tried it, but with the powerful engine I can certainly see that the rear can get squirelly between 65 and 80 on grass. Especially in Reverse.

    The Official "I ordered" thread

Okay, we could start a betting pool here. What are the odds that the little wagon will be at the dealer by the end of the month, when my girlfriend is going to Denver anyway? Yep, that's that's what I thought, too. It'll probably show up about two days later, and I'll be going to get it with a...
