Need advice on fighting the dreaded steering wheel vibration

A few hundred miles of driving should not necessitate a rebalance. They should be laying on their side when stored, once mounted. Yes, I like to mount tires and let them lay in the garage until the next day, letting the pressure do its best to get any deformations out of the tire. Ideally they...

Need advice on fighting the dreaded steering wheel vibration

I think I asked earlier in this thread if the tires had been sitting with weight on them and allowed to cool off before going on the balancer. Doesn't matter if that's at home or at the store, they will not be as round as they could be when balanced. And why wouldn't the old weights stay on? If...

Why did Ram change the name to just TRX instead of Rebel TRX?

For that kind of money they really should leave all badges off. Some are harder to remove than others.

Ram Rebel TRX Reveal Date- 8/17/20

They'd have to tinker with the standard setup quite a bit to get 14 inches (I think it was) of travel out of it.

Hmm. Wonder how fast my V6 1500 would be with a ProCharger (and maybe some Nitrous)? It'd definitely be cheaper, and far more stealth.

You did mean "build time and confirmed pricing", right? There's nothing confirmable about FCA vehicle's build time, I've noticed.

    "Bead lock capable" wheels. Interesting.

It won't even go as fast as my preferred cruising speed. And a measly 1,300-lb. load capacity??

    My reaction to ignorance

Speaking of foreign cars, my best sleeper was an MGB that looked completely stock, except for tires and wheels. It had been on a diet, so with a 310 hp aluminum V8 moving 2,000 lbs. it ran really well. But while its power to weight ratio was better than that of my girlfriend's 911 Turbo S...

    My reaction to ignorance

I wish. For whatever reason, my 'Cat has been quite loud since day one. I like the sound, but it's not exactly stealthy. My girlfriend's Redeye is much quieter, and the 'Hawk is very sedate...until you step on it. Of the three, the 'Hawk is definitely the best sleeper. A chubby little taxi...

    My reaction to ignorance

They're just as red when sitting on a shelf in the garage. Really. And the car is still every bit as quick.

    My reaction to ignorance

They won't hear anything out of the ordinary until I'm already half a car length past them. And by then it's too late. Besides, most poseurs have the stereo on, and loudly, so until I step on it they may think it's a V6. And that's exactly how I like it.

A tad slower than the already porky Trackhawk is my guess.

    Ordering a Hellcat

I hope it's not the case, but it could be that it hasn't made it to the body vendor yet. On the other hand, our severely delayed '19 never made it to a body vendor, but had chassis damage. Which could've gone unnoticed.

I know that I could call my favorite dealer, order one, and get it for about invoice. If wandering onto a dealer lot and looking at existing inventory, anything is possible I suppose.

    My reaction to ignorance

And that's what makes them so appealing to me. After a debadging, even most of those who do have a clue can mistake them for a lame version.

Okay, there are indeed options that don't add any weight. Delete options would fall in that category. When ordering my Ram 3500, for example, I opted for no third brake light. And did not order TPMS. Does that make a noticeable difference on a vehicle that weighs close to 9,500 lbs.? Nope. But...

I bought a Limited badge for my 'Hawk, to replace the Trackhawk badge. Of all the Jeeps I've had, and have, the 'Hawk is by far the most limited. Lots of sport, not much utility.

Limited 1500? That should be in the dictionary as the definition of redundancy.
