Spent some time with a 2021 Ram TRX

Anyone somewhat observant would've noticed that a Charger is about the only thing missing in the collection. Coincidence? I think not.

Spent some time with a 2021 Ram TRX

Uh, oh, here we go again. She hasn't even brought it up recently.

Spent some time with a 2021 Ram TRX

Yeah, I think I'll hang on to it. It's so much fun to drive, and I'm getting used to it sitting around. Then again, it's time to get the Challenger out on the roads...

Spent some time with a 2021 Ram TRX

Well, we'll find out somewhat soon what the final price tag will be. Not that it really matters to me since it's my girlfriend buying it...and she has much shapelier legs to pull than I do.

It's called "the door price", Mr. Trooper.

Spent some time with a 2021 Ram TRX

Umm, don'r rub it in, Hellcatcfp. This is a multi-door.

Good relationship with the dealer. And we have bought a few vehicles from there in the past seven years. Maybe eight or nine, not counting this 1500. It's an odd situation, but being a very small dealership, a sale can mean more to them than the profit.

And you'll still be able to trade the TRX in on a 'Hawk when reality hits home.

    TRX Orders

Yikes! Makes under 70K for a not so loaded one (1500s have very low load capacity anyway) seem quite reasonable in comparison.

    TRX Orders

One being a passenger vehicle (Durango) and the other a pickup, they may very well have different standards. Not that it makes the future for the Trackhawk look promising, and even less so for the Hellcat powered cars. Then again, a Challenger or Charger gets much better mileage than a...

    TRX Orders

Eric, I hope you're right. But me getting a suit, of any kind? Not happening. Especially since it's my girlfriend getting the girly-truck, not me.

    TRX Orders

I'd like to be more optimistic about it, but between the two new regimes (national and Stellantis) it doesn't look all that great for the future. And by "future" I mean starting with the '22 model year.

Umm, are you aware that for whatever reason some call the 'Hawk a truck. By their definition you would pick two Trackhawks and two TRXs.

    TRX Orders

Even if they can't meet emission standards?
  15. Jimmy N.

    DD

Well, according to J2807 it can, but I towed about 1,800 lbs. with my 1500 once (an empty trailer) and will not try that again.

    TRX Orders

You think there will be '22s?

Having actual trucks, the 702 hp El Camino doesn't quite qualify as one in my mind. Being registered as a truck is one thing, but my hand dolly is also technically a truck.

    DD

Why drive a fairly obvious TRX with only 702 hp when the much more subtle 707 hp 'Hawk will do the job better?
  19. Jimmy N.

    DD

    'Hawk.
