I swear, less than two minutes before reading this, I realized...F#@*, I just bought another 4-door. Okay, that was about the Jetta I bought today, but still.

That reminds me...I have two extended warranties to get reimbursed for. No, the tunnel washer is nowhere near that powerful. It's about 100 hp as I recall. Got me a fully optioned (whoopee!) '14 Jetta Sportwagen to puts around in for now.

Okay, got the VIN a couple of days ago, so the car is at least in the computers. It's a start. Wish I had a chip on my shoulder to donate to the cause and speed things up.

That's kinda how I got lured into selling 1012 horsepower (one of which was a Ram 1500)...and today I bought a used rip snorting 140 hp diesel to replace the two daily drivers. For now.

Oh, that was her "old" Turbo S. The one she traded in on an ordered new one...which is the one that made it here before the ordered Redeye arrived. Then again, the Redeye was ordered two days later than the 911. But then again, again, they both did come from foreign countries.

That's not really an open trailer issue, but using a bumper pull, and/or one without a shield on the front. I have towed much more expensive cars on open trailers without any issues.

Looks to me like the shifter could be the same, but nothing underneath (except the transmission) is even remotely close. Maybe by "Trackhawk system" they meant being able to change the drive modes?

Darn it. You got me all enthused there, and I went on the site to look for wheels for a different application. Okay, I liked what I saw, but not that they sell 5-lug wheels to go on 6-lug vehicles. Oh well.

Check the weight. Some aftermarket stuff is heavy.

I may have been a tad optimistic that time. The Cherokee XJ I ended up driving (with good tires) needed 4WD and backing up a couple of times to get a run at it before reaching the road.

At least I gave it a fair try...before having to back into the ditch, to get the driveway passable for something more appropriate.

Not even close. Guess you haven't looked under a Trackhawk. Yes, both are AWD systems, but that's about where the similarities end. The transfer case is about three times larger (by volume) than a 'Hawk's, and has low range. The front diff is roughly the same size as the rear one on the 'Hawk...

Initially, when only discussing the 'Hawk, they wanted me to take it to them. I said thanks, but no thanks. By the time it's tied down properly, driving 150 miles, then back to park the trailer, put the tow vehicle away, stash the tie-down stuff, etc. a whole day is gone. And, no, the longest...

Thanks, but we don't know for sure yet. The not so fine print explains that the checks won't be good until the cars are picked up. Kinda makes sense.

Well, so far, so good. Guess I'll have to mail the titles, and then wait for someone to pick the cars up.
