My 2018 DDSRT 392 has 46,000 miles on it. I bought it 2 years ago with 25,000.

It always had this great upshift sound until recently. It used to make a "Brraappp" sound at the upshifts but now it doesn't.

Does anyone know why that may have stopped and if there is a fix?

Thanks!

Any comments?

That’s the sound of the transmission shifting/exhaust, all 8 speed autos make that sound when shifting at wot, kind of an odd question - almost didn’t sound like a serious post at first, so sorry about that.

it most likely has to do with your learned driving habits with the tcm. Have you been driving it more “gently” for a while? Could possibly do a transmission relearn, but still a bit fuzzy as to which sound you’re referring to

I have been driving it gently!

The sound was as if the tranny went into neutral just before the shift - the revs would race & get much louder instantly before it shifted. I've never experienced that before and was worried at first but then I had read in the forum how many guys loved that sound and knew it was normal.

Now it's gone and I miss it.

How do I do a transmission re-learn?
Just beat on it for a while? 😃

Some scanners can do it. I would just drive it more aggressively in regular and sport. Does it still do it in sport mode?

First off, thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it.
It doesn't do it any of the modes.
If I were to go the scanner route - what would I purchase and what settings would I be looking to use on the scanner?
Sorry to ask so many questions!

Mine has about 12k miles and it don’t slip btw shifts, it is solid and quick, and more solid when it is in any of the modes above the default/street. I almost like it better than my RE in default. Drive both yesterday and was thinking about that.

Now the RE in track mode with the tune is out of the picture.:ROFLMAO:

You can pull the TCM fuse, just google how to do it. You’re looking for “how to reset TCM adaptives”

Just make sure you drive aggressively after, so it learns it. And by aggressive, I mean obey all traffic laws and posted speeds. Just make sure you give it good throttle

My Durango poveR/T needs exhaust. 5.7 leaves a bit to be desired, but it’s an suv - meant to cruise, haul, and pass in traffic

The 6.4 rocks. It has a loud exhaust IMO, but that is okay. I have a 5.7 in a Grand Cherokee. It is nice and smooth but don’t pull as well.

I’ve owned cars with the 6.4 before. It’s a good engine
